Face jugs

What the heck is a face jug, anyway?
A face jug is exactly what it sounds like. A jug with a face on it. It is considered an American folk art form. There are examples of face jugs made in Colonial times and early American times. Most of these came from potteries in the south, and the tradition of southern pottery continues to this day. There are a few of us though that have brought the tradition up north, and to other parts of the country. Wherever you are, making them or collecting them, it’s good.

And yeah we know they’re creepy! The creepier the better!

About me

What I do

My name is Jay Vonderhey. I make ceramic face jugs and other ceramic items such as mugs, bowls, bird houses, or anything that I might be interested in. Mostly I sell on Ebay, I auction jugs usually one a week when I am selling. I also do private comissions, if someone wants a particular person or character done. Use the Contact form if you would like to arrange for me to create one for you.

I have to add here that if not for the wonderful people that purchase and keep my pottery, I would be really nowhere. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
